In this bonus episode, I apologize for using the word Hispanic interchangeably with the word Latino in a future episode. I was using the language of the census bureau and found myself down the rabbit hole of self-identification.
It was not my intention to group identities together and realize that there is a difference between the two. Please accept my apology as I continue to educate myself on when certain words should be used. I want to be as respectful as I possibly can.
In our current racial and ethnic climate as a country, it is definitely time to acknowledge how we refer to our brothers and sisters from all nations. I want to recognize my mistakes. I am open to criticism. This is how I learn. I stand corrected and I will continue to use my voice in efforts to be fair and respectful.
